A little information about You Rang, the author of Rumbling Grumbling Old Fart.

Being a libertarian leaning individualist, I grumble… a lot. I grumble about government. I grumble about the police, or more precisely the slow, and almost methodical way the police are being given powers that were never intended to be handled by law enforcement. DUI roadblocks are one very big power issue. The police should never be allowed to stop and detain anyone unless they suspect that person of a crime. DUI roadblocks are fishing expeditions, and as with all fishing, sometimes they hook the intended quarry… but most times they don’t.

I grew up in the northeast. The south shore of Massachusetts to be more precise. I moved to the Kansas City area in 2002, and absolutely love it here. If you’ve never been to the northeast, you aren’t missing anyting. It is cramped. There is very little “space”. Homes are built extremely close together, and (at least where I lived) there is absolutely not one square inch of unincorperated land. I’d never even heard of unincorperated land before moving here. Imagine it… land you own, land that is as close to being free of government interference as you can get without starting your very own country. In the cities with populations of 100,000 or more, three family homes are the norm.
